The basic aircraft has an 86-seat interior with two-by-two seating at 31-inch (78.7 cm) pitch and standard fore and aft lavatories. In addition, airlines have a wide range of interior layout options including mixed seat-pitch and two-class interiors.
Cabin flexibility in the CRJ900 – as well as the CRJ700 and CRJ705 – is accomplished by two “flex zones”. The forward “flex zone” provides flexibility in galley, seating and lavatory layouts; the aft “flex zone” provides flexibility in galley, lavatory and main baggage layouts.
